Patane Residence was developed by the architects at bureau^proberts and is situated in Newmarket, Queensland, Australia. According to the official venture description we had been sent, “the home was designed for a young household and occupies the crest of a hill facing south towards the Brisbane city skyline and Mount Coot-tha. A series of linked pavilions perched on reliable concrete platforms inspire exploration and interaction whilst portraying a sense of permanency and refuge. The concrete building enhances a sensation of intransience the client preferred, while timber elements re-interpret the craftsmanship of Queensland home construction, responding to the suburban context of Newmarket’s 19th and 20th century dwellings. The house is meant to conjure summer time memories of time devote in the cool, shaded spaces found beneath the properties of our childhood. Visitors are welcomed onto the middle level of the home. This transparent platform encourages household exercise through connection between living room, perform space and the street. Private spaces of the property are separated amongst the basement and upper level”.[Photography by Jon Linkins]
