10. Tiny 100-Square-Foot Apartment Virtually Transforms Throughout Day
Using digital projection and modular furniture, a tiny windowless 100 sqft micro apartment is virtually transformed into various rooms with multiple views.
The Y Duplex Penthouse is spread out over 160 square meters (1722 square feet) in one of Tel Aviv’s neighborhoods where all of the multi-story buildings look the same, mostly uninspired. Pitsou Kedem Architects were hired to bring life to the roof top apartment through the use of modern elements and raw materials, like exposed concrete, iron stairs and furniture, terrazzo floors, and bare wood.
The new staircase creates a sense of separation within the interior, while tying in materials, like steel and wood, that you’ll see throughout the space.
This Amsterdam-based home used to be a garage before i29 interior architects got ahold of it. Now it’s a light-filled space with a long, pitched skylight that runs through the open floor plan living area. The main floor houses 230 square meters (2475 square feet) so each area feels open and spacious.
The color palette was kept simple with bright white for the walls and ceilings, light gray floors, and rough oak and black surfaces, but they brought in a bold green spice it up.
